Shape Tape Glow Wand Uses

Alicia BiceComment

I feel like a lot of people aren’t really sure how to use the new Shape Tape Glow Wand by Tarte or what it really is, so I wanted to share all the different uses with y’all. First and foremost, I want to say it is NOT a concealer. That is definitely the most common misconception of the glow wand, and I feel that is a big reason some people don’t like it. They are expecting coverage, and when they don’t get that coverage they get disappointed. The Shape Tape Glow Wand is a liquid brightener/highlighter. It says shape tape on the packaging because it is part of the shape tape collection and pairs well with the shape tape concealer. I honestly don’t think Tarte should have put that on the packaging because I feel that is what makes it confusing, but at the same time on the packaging it talks about highlighting.

Anyways, now that y’all know more about the product, I want to share some of the uses. This is definitely one of my new favorite products! It gives your skin a healthy glow and it’s good for all ages! It doesn’t have any shimmer or glitter in it, so it is great for mature skin as well.

The main way I use it is how you would a powder highlighter, on my cheekbones. I just dot some starting about the center under my eye and line my cheekbone towards my hairline. The glow wand comes with a removable sponge on the other end so you can use that to blend it out, but I just use the damp beauty sponge that I use for my foundation and concealer. You can use whichever one you prefer. After I blend out what was on my cheeks, I take the leftover on my sponge and put it down the center of my nose. You can do this step before or after your foundation. I do this on days that I don’t wear foundation too. If you want to see me applying it I will link my Youtube video below.

If you want an all over glow, you can mix the glow wand in with your foundation. I have mixed it in with the Tarte foundcealer and it looks beautiful! If you don’t where foundation but still want an all over glow, you can mix it in with your moisturizer or primer instead. You could even put it on all over by itself.

To brighten your undereyes you can apply it on top of your concealer or mix it in with your concealer. I actually love applying it on top throughout the day to freshen up my undereyes. That’s one good thing about the built in sponge is it’s perfect for on the go or traveling.

The last way to use the glow wand is on your collarbones and shoulders. I tried this for the first time in my glow wand video and it looked so pretty. That will be a perfect way to wear it the rest of summer!

Now that I shared the ways to use the Shape Tape Glow Wand, I wanted to talk about choosing a shade. They recommend getting one that looks close to your skintone and that may be easiest since we can’t go in store and swatch right now, but if you want it to look like a highlighter you can go a shade lighter. If you want it to look more natural, I would get it to match. If you have a highlighter undertone preference I will put all the shades with their undertone next. I will list them lightest to darkest. For example, I like a more gold/champagne shade of highlighter so I use Dream.

  • Sunbeam (pearlescent glow)

  • Alight (opal glow)

  • Aglow (rose glow)

  • Dream (champagne glow) **My favorite**

  • Agleam (peachy glow)

  • Auroral (amber glow)

  • Ablaze (golden bronze glow)

  • Moonbeam (deep bronze glow)

Hopefully that helps y’all find a color. If you have any questions about this product or need help finding a color you can message me or comment below and I’ll help the best I can! I really hope that y’all enjoyed this post and learned more about the Shape Tape Glow Wand by Tarte! Let me know in the comments if you are excited to try it out!
