My Favorite Eyeshadow Brushes

Alicia BiceComment

I’ve talked about makeup brushes before, but on one of my YouTube videos I had someone say they wanted to know what eyeshadow brushes that I use so I thought I would share what I use now. I filmed a makeup tutorial explaining what eyeshadow brushes I use throughout, so I wanted to do a post here as well. I will link that video down below.

Some of my favorite brushes are Morphe brushes. They are good quality and a great price point. I was subscribed to their monthly subscription for a couple of years, so I was able to try a bunch of different brushes. I definitely recommend the subscription if you are wanting to add to or start your brush collection. It’s only $20 a month and you get 3-8 brushes. Sometimes you get limited edition brushes or brushes that haven’t been released yet. I have to admit after a while I started getting very similar brushes, that’s why I stopped, but it may be different now because it has been a few years since I did it. I have quite a few brushes so I do use a different brush for every eyeshadow, but if you don’t have that many it isn’t necessary, I’m just extra like to, haha.

I always start out with my transition shade when doing my eyeshadow, so for this brush I like to use the Morphe x Jaclyn Hill JH32. I like to use a fluffy brush for this step because the transition shade goes above your crease and you don’t want that eyeshadow to be too dark that high up. Hopefully that makes sense. If that sounds confusing be sure to check out my tutorial. It may make more sense when you see me doing it.

Next I like to do my crease shade and I like to use the Morphe R38. I like this brush because it is a little more dense so it adds more product. The denser the brush the more product it is going to pick up. Hopefully that makes sense and helps when deciding what brush to use.

This next brush is hands down my most used brush and it is the Morphe M441. The reason it’s my most used brush is because after I apply each eyeshadow I use this brush to blend out the edges. I don’t like when my eyeshadow isn’t blended well or has harsh lines, so I blend after each step. I also use it to blend out the shadow if I get it too dark. You do not have to have a different brush for this, but like I said earlier i’m extra, haha. You can always use your transition brush to do this and just wipe off the eyeshadow.

I love this type of brush to use on my lower lash line and it is the Morphe R41. I also loved to use this shape when I do client makeup. It’s kind of pointed at the end and dense so it adds quite a bit of product. I know some people like a flat brush for the lower lash line, so I will share my favorite liner brush next.

This is the flat/liner brush that I like, the Morphe M432. I mainly just use this when I want to line my waterline with an eyeshadow or use eyeshadow to line my lid. I still wanted to share it though in case y’all prefer this type of brush for your lower lash line.

For my eyelid I love this brush, which is the Morphe x Jaclyn Hill JH41. Jaclyn was inspired by the MAC 242 brush when she designed this because it used to be her favorite lid brush. I have both and personally gravitate more towards this one. I love that it is dense so it packs eyeshadow on the lid, especially shimmer shades, plus it is way more affordable too.

The last brush I use to complete my eye look is the Morphe M433. Once again a brush that probably isn't necessary but I love it for applying eyeshadow on my outer corner lid. I do this almost every eye look I do to kind of deepen/darken the look without having to do a smokey eye. This brush is the perfect size for my eye to do this step.

If you don’t really have eyeshadow brushes you like and you want to start off with a set, I would recommend this one. It has most of the brushes I talk about or some very similar. It is also cheaper than buying all the brushes I talked about individually. This set is $39 and comes with the bag, all the brushes I mentioned together $53. You also get one more brush than what I talk about. If you want to buy or check out this set just click the picture and it will take you to Ulta’s website to purchase.

I really hope y’all enjoyed seeing my favorite eyeshadow brushes! If you want to see me using each brush be sure to check out my YouTube video! If you have any questions please comment down below! What is yawls favorite brush brand?
