Do you have a sweater dress you love but not sure how to style it? Well I am going to show you a few ways to do that, from casual to dressy. One dress I’m sharing is from a boutique in Clarksville, TN called The Copper Petal. If you aren’t local they also have a website that I will link here. You can use the code “Alicia10” for a discount! The other dress is from Amazon!
Here is a casual option, sneakers with optional shirt or shacket tied around your waist. Of course you can wear the shirt, but tied around your waist is good for oversized sweater dresses because it helps to accentuate your waist, but you also have it in case you get cold. Win win. This way might be better for transitioning into spring since it has decided to be really cold lately and I do not like it one bit.
Option two a step up from casual but not quite dressy in my opinion. I added some knee high boots which you could wear now since they cover your legs a little more and then add a jacket. I just noticed that all these ideas will also be great transitioning into spring. I guess I just have warmer weather on my mind, haha. Anyone else?
Ps- yes these pictures are from fall. It has just taken me a while to get to this blog post. It works out though.
Option 3 is a little more dressy but still slightly casual with the shacket. I have been wearing this shacket a lot lately because it is so cute and from Amazon. Click the picture to shop the shacket or these super cute over the knee boots. Disclaimer on the shacket, it’s not the most comfortable or warm, but I love the colors, lol. Disclaimer on the boots, they run tts but are a little snug on my thicker thighs.
For a dressier look, you can ditch the shacket and add a blazer or peacoat. You can also change out the shoes and put on some cute booties or heels, but I like the OTK boots to keep my legs a little warmer.
Here is the other sweater dress that is from Amazon. You can shop it by clicking on the picture. This dress is definitely more cozy and warm. I am wearing a size medium, but could have sized down to a small. If you purchase this I would size down. I was just nervous about the length because I have trouble covering my big booty sometimes, haha. I am keeping the medium though because it’s nice not having to pull down the dress every time I walk. Here I have paired it with some over the knee boots and I love this look. The boots really dress it up. I think this dress would also look really cute with a belt around the waist, especially with it being oversized. The possibilities are endless!
I really hope this helped yall if you were having trouble styling your sweater dress, or if you were debating whether or not to get one because you didn’t know what to wear it with. Let me know in the comments which combination you like best!
