2020 is finally over! Who all is excited? I have mixed feelings about it honestly. Even though it is a new year, everything won’t just go back to normal, but it does give us hope that 2021 will be better. I guess we will see.
It was a really weird year, but I feel like some good did come out of it. I know for me personally I was able to have some time off work when it was getting a little stressful. I also had to drive at least an hour, sometimes more to work and that was starting to get to me a little. I am still not working though and that does make me sad because I loved my job. For those of you that don’t know, I worked for Tarte Cosmetics. It is my favorite makeup brand and I felt like it was the perfect job for me, besides being a full time YouTuber like I’m hoping to be (fingers crossed.) I also got two new puppies who I am obsessed with, mini golden doodles Daisy and Copper who are real brother and sister. I also got my first tattoo, which I will do a post on that soon sharing the story behind it. What are some good things that happened to y’all in 2020?
Well, enough about 2020, I just wanted to recap and focus on the positive of the year. Now I wanted to share some of my goals and dreams for 2021. I did briefly mention some in my final day of Vlogmas that I will link below in case y’all want to check it out next. Almost all of my goals have to do with my business. My number one goal this year is to reach 1,000 subscribers on my YouTube cannel and get the 4,000 public view hours that are required to monetize. Once I can monetize my channel that is one step closer to being a full time YouTuber! I also really feel like it will open more doors for me as well. Another YouTube goal for this year is to post 2 videos a week! I also want to film months ahead for my 13 days of Halloween too, haha.
My other business goals are to start doing 1 blog post a week because in 2020 I slacked big time on my blog, post at least 5 times on instagram a week, post at least 5 times on my liketoknowit a week, and send out my newsletter once a week. I have decided to send my newsletter out on Sunday’s to recap the week. Be sure to sign up if you haven’t already because I have decided to do some giveaways just for my newsletter tribe!
For now that is all the goals I have written down. I would of course like to grow my instagram and liketoknowit, but I think my main focus for the year will be my YouTube since that is what I am most passionate about. I am still trying to think of my word for the year, but I think I might choose “consistency.” I have decided though that I want a quote of the year as well and it is, “Success doesn’t come from what you do occasionally, it comes from what you do consistently.” (-Marie Forleo) Being consistent is something I struggle with and whenever I saw this quote it really resonated with me. I usually do good the first few months of the year, then I slowly start slacking until I am posting once a week or every other week and I don’t want to be like that this year! One thing I believe will help is filming and editing several videos at a time so I am ahead and do the same thing with my blog. If y’all have any tips for staying on track let me know!
I know this was pretty lengthy but I felt like I had some catching up to do with y’all, lol. Let me know in the comments what some of your goals for 2021 are!
